Peace Dove

The dove is a universal image of peace. Psalm 122:6 commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We long for the day when Isaiah 33:20 comes to pass, when we look upon Zion, the city of our festivals and see Jerusalem as a peaceful abode, a tent that will not be moved; its stakes will never be pulled up, nor any of its ropes broken.

This illustration is a reminder that we can experience peace when we place our trust in God, just as it is proclaimed in Psalm 4:8, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." We can have the peace of God, which transcends all understanding.
