The Isaiah 55 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so My Word, that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but WILL accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:8-11) These verses are among the artist's favorites. Such tremendous power lies within this passage. God's Word, which is available to us today in written form, WILL achieve its purpose, despite our circumstances. This truth can become life-changing, if one takes hold of it. Blue hues are used to portray the water mentioned in Isaiah. It is also reminiscent of the heavens, which are high above the earth, and from where His word goes forth. The tree-like image symbolizes two things: the budding and flourishing mentioned in the verse, and the heavenly city, our eternal home and ultimate destination. The scrolls, which contain God's declaration, are approaching the viewer, and should be seen as an invitation to take hold of these ancient truths, which are still valid today. May you be blessed and discover the same strength from these verses as the artist did.
