River of Life The River is mentioned throughout scriptures starting with Genesis and concluding in Revelation. It's a life-giving source for eternal life given to us through Yeshua (Jesus). As it is written in John 4:14 "whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life". The Israelites were miraculously being sustained in the desert as mentioned in Exodus 17 "I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." On top of the rock resides the heavenly Jerusalem, our eternal home, the place our focus should be sited on to master the storms of life. It is being lit by God's glory (The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.) The leaf is a symbol of fall and that the end is approaching speedily. It stands as a reminder as well as a wake up call. Have you tasted the water yet? |
